Dragos is a leading ICS/OT cybersecurity company. They needed an interactive Year in Review microsite to present their 2023 threat intelligence findings to two very different audiences: security practitioners who want granular data, and executives who want high-level takeaways for budget and strategy decisions.
Dragos knew they wanted four sections: Timeline, Vulnerabilities, Threats, and Key Findings. Scope and content constraints meant it would live as a single scrolling experience, which ended up working in our favor — it let us take a more editorial, storytelling approach where readers move from broad context into specific findings at their own pace.
The biggest challenge on this project was the time constraint. It was a quick turnaround, and I had to make sure I was thorough with my annotations, animation notes, and interaction notes so that development would be able to take my static designs and transform them into a dynamic, motion-driven site.
The dark theme worked naturally in line with the larger Dragos corporate brand and gave us strong contrast for the data visualizations. I experimented with different types of data visualization — bar graphs vs donut charts, line graphs vs bar charts. Naturally, percentages fit within the donut graph approach because it better visualized the percentage as part of a whole. I made the 2023 stats larger to emphasize the year-over-year change, highlighting the client's progress in their cybersecurity posture. That repetitive rhythm of big numbers (77%, 34%, 67%, 21%) with comparison bars gives executives a scannable read while practitioners can go deeper into the supporting text.
I worked as the sole designer on both UX and UI, with collaboration from a creative director and a few developers.
